Benvenuti a Torino
Tra
i simboli della civiltà occidentale, l´opera e la musica
classica hanno un valore specifico, particolare: sono simboli che vanno
mantenuti vivi, che hanno bisogno di essere animati, che appartengono
alla tradizione ma necessitano di talento, di alta specializzazione, di
intelligenza e di passione perché li si possa apprezzare. Una chiesa,
un monumento, un quadro o un romanzo continuano a esserci quando la società
che li ha generati non esiste più; li dobbiamo preservare, ma non
è necessario dare loro la vita. L´opera e la musica classica
ci chiedono invece proprio questo, di poter continuare a esistere grazie
a una cultura che, magari a secoli di distanza, è in grado di riprodurre
le condizioni che sono necessarie perché anche loro abbiano un
posto nel mondo; e così un concerto di Vivaldi o un´opera
di Puccini sono ancora vive, possono fare ascoltare la loro voce, perché
intorno a loro ci sono musicisti, orchestre, cantanti, direttori e ascoltatori
attenti, perché c´è un sistema culturale capace di
sostenerle. Questo mondo, questo insieme di talento e forza di volontà,
oggi a Torino è particolarmente vitale: ecco perché le pagine
di questo mensile sono così ricche di concerti; ed ecco perché
la città viene riconosciuta in Italia come la "Capitale della
musica". È proprio grazie a questa forza, a questa energia,
che Torino, oltre che a dar voce al passato, sa anche far risuonare il
presente; e infatti questo numero di "Sistema Musica" illustra
le diverse creazioni che la città alimenta e sostiene, le musiche
e gli spettacoli di teatro musicale che qui si possono far vivere perché
intorno c´è un humus capace di accogliere il nuovo, c´è
un pubblico che vuole vedersi rappresentato da musiche che parlino di
lui e della sua vita, un pubblico che desidera lasciare una traccia di
sé attraverso composizioni che, domani, possano testimoniare l´esistenza
del mondo di oggi. Siano dunque i benvenuti gli ospiti che vorranno condividere
con i torinesi queste serate così generose di suoni: siamo sicuri
che, nei nostri teatri, nelle nostre sale da concerto, vivranno esperienze
